American Rimfire Association (ARA) - Bench Rest ShootingWelcome to the sport of .22LR Bench Rest Competition.
Two classes (Unlimited and Sporter) have 20 minutes to shoot a 25 bull target at 50 yards for a maximum score of 2500.
Created in April 1998, the ARA is a great organization for competitive .22LR benchrest competition.
The GRGC Bench Rest Range was created in Bay One of the Gale Stiles Range in summer 2013.

Some photos from the August 3rd 2013 Inagural shoot. 16 shooters. A tad overcast, but not a bad temperature.
Be patient . . . we're still leveling the ground and will eventually have grass.
Ahh . . . more expensive toys to buy . . .
Somewhere WAY out there . . . are tiny little bullseyes . . .
Fierce determination and concentration are required. . .Benches for Lefties and Right handers . . .
A steady hand . . .
Some bare raw wood stocks . . . some with a bit more pizzaz . . .
Just a light squeeze on the trigger once everything is in place . . .
me . . . I thought he meant those tiny little surveyor's flags . . .
I didn't realize we'd have a windmill farm . . .
Some finely honed sleds . . . are as impressive as the rifles themselves.
Ahh, up close and personal . . . here's where the metal meets the paper . . .
And for the inaugural match (I think) each shooter got a T-Shirt. (And some BBQ.)
Awfully quiet . . . even with so many shooters.
And a wide range . . . from the very young . . .
. . . to the moderately ancient.A colorful day.
Sixteen shooters . . . 2300 (of 2500) was the highest I saw . . . but they had more rounds to go.
And some spectators . . .
