>> Trap Shooting News <<
Saturday night members and guests practice on the trap range has been suspended until next spring. Monday nights will continue barring extreme weather. In an effort to keep the trap range open as much as the weather permits, I'm building a text group of those interested in shooting. The trap committee will watch the weather forecast and when there's an unusually nice Saturday or Sunday afternoon I'll text the group and announce the trap range will be open at a certain day/time. The same list will be used to announce weather closures on Monday nights also. For inclusion on this list please sign up with the cashier on Monday evenings.
I'm excited to announce the formation of the Warren County Lead Slingers, a Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) affiliated program open to all Warren County high school students from County, City or Private schools. We'll be a travelling competitive team attending sanctioned competitions throughout Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana and culminating with the SCTP Nationals at Cardinal Center, Marengo Ohio in July. SCTP encompasses over 15,000 student athletes in clay target sports alone, with more in their rifle & pistol divisions. We've already had our organizational meeting and one classroom night. Our formal practices will begin March first on the GRGC trap range.
Paul Goins, Greenwood FFA Adviser and I are actively planning the FFA Spring Invitational to be held at GRGC trap range. This event will largely mirror the Regional Competition we hosted in October. FFA looks forward to both events and many practice nights on the range in preparation for them!
The Trap Range at GRGC will be closed Monday 12-25-2017 in observance of Christmas. The trap range will be OPEN on Monday 01-01-2018 at our regular time. The trap committee wishes everyone a joyous and safe Holiday Season and wants you all to know how much we appreciate your support in 2017!
Thank you very much.
Remember : Normally, the range is Private-Closed, and available only to Members, but DURING REGULAR SCHEDULED MATCH EVENTS like 3Gun, IDPA, ARA, ATA, and Cowboy Action, THAT EVENT RANGE is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC to attend that Match/Event.
