>> Tactical Rifle News <<
The Tactical Rifle scheduled on June 30th is BACK ON AGAIN. We found a volunteer to be Match Director. For now, the rest of the season remains unchanged. Updates as we know more.
>> Rimfire Bench Rest News <<
The Annual Club ARA (Rimfire) Tournament will be moved to the regular July ARA match on the 7th. (It had been previously scheduled for August, but they're moving it to avoid State Matches.)
Please do NOT USE the Gale Stiles Ranges this day. They wish to reserve parking (and avoid confusion) for this Tournament day when more visitors/participants are expected.
Thanks for your cooperation.
>> Trap Shooting News <<
Congratulations to Lead Slingers, Warren Co. KY on winning Champion Team, and Matthew Long for winning Second High Gun in their category at the Kentucky SCTP State Championship yesterday! Jefferson Gun Club threw 11,000 targets yesterday for the Trap portion of the State Championship and another 3,200 targets for the Skeet and Sporting Clay disciplines today. The weather was great, the facility was fantastic and youth from all over the Commonwealth of Kentucky had a great time crushing clays!
Lead Slingers continue to practice on the GRGC Trap Range on Thursdays and 4-H uses both the Gale Stiles/ARA range and the trap range on Tuesday evenings for closed practice.
ATA Registered Events are winding down in preparation for the Grand American. Our last scheduled event is June 30, 2018. We'll briefly resume throwing registered targets for the 2019 target year in September and early October. Best of luck to the many GRGC members, and non members who practice with us on Monday evenings, as they journey to the Grand American in Sparta Illinois in August.
We continue to be open to the public on Monday evenings beginning at 5:00 sharp for trap practice. As always, feel free to text me at 270-535-5892 with any questions about trap shooting or involving youth in shooting sports.
